Techy Tuesday: Smartphones

By: Jennifer Wykstra

The number one technology that help event planners these days… their smart phones. I’m definitely not saying you need one to get by; I still rely on my good ole bright-blue slide phone and a good planner, but smart phones have made life a lot easier for many event planners. They have placed all the scheduling, clients, vendors, locations and everything else in one place, one click away.

Smartphones also make it easier to reach group clients by group text. And if the host isn’t text savvy the planner has his or her email right there as well, making it easy to stay in contact wherever they might be. Not to mention the apps that put the budget, seating chart, ideas, and guest list in the very same location. Some of the applications that make event planning just that much easier are below.

1. Party & Event Planner Lite

There is no such thing as knowing too  much about event planning. With our ever changing society and societal norms, event planning is constantly changing as well. From what people expect at an event, to the timeline to get things done, how events are put on is always adapting.

The best way to stay up to date on the current event planning trends is to become a student again and learn from the best! Here is a list I put together of some event planners that I like to follow due to their expertise in the field, knowledge and experience or the quality information they share.
